The light emitting area has a number angle of 45 ° and secures 7.99 cm2 on one side. The shape is quite compact by making the parts other than the light emitting part as small as possible, such as incorporating a diode that is normally placed on the board into the wiring. (Refer to the figure on the left below) In
addition, the inside is finished with a simple appearance by shot processing instead of the conventional lens cut.
Regarding the color of the lens, prepare samples with different "color density" and "shot intensity" as shown in the upper right photo, and select the one with the best texture and transparency by actually emitting light. The material is hard and highly transparent polycarbonate resin (same as the current product).
And the biggest point in this product is the evolution of LED chips.
"Reflect light with lens cut" In order to increase the amount of light compared to the current product, we adopted a method of "illuminating the entire lens surface" by increasing the number of chips.
Although LEDs have high brightness, they are linear light, so it is necessary to devise a chip arrangement to make them shine evenly anywhere in the lens.
The biggest problem here was waste heat treatment. If the LED chips are densely packed, heat will accumulate in the chips and resistors and the resistance value will not be stable. To overcome this, we decided to use a special resistor that is particularly resistant to heat, rather than a general resistor. |
